Dr. Derek Robben serves as the esteemed Medical Director of BoardPrep Recovery Center in Tampa, Florida, where he plays a crucial role in guiding the treatment of professionals facing mental health and substance use challenges. Under his leadership, BoardPrep has become a beacon of hope for individuals seeking evidence-based, compassionate care. Dr. Robben’s expertise in addiction psychiatry ensures that patients receive the highest standard of treatment, tailored to their unique needs.
Dr. Robben previously served as the Director of the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship Program at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. His dedication to educating the next generation of psychiatrists is evident in his numerous awards, including Educator of the Year from the USF Addiction Fellowship Program and the Faculty Clinical Teaching Award.
Dr. Robben’s clinical trauma experience is extensive, particularly in serving veterans. At the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa, he was instrumental in the Substance Use Disorders Service, where he evaluated, assessed, and treated patients. His leadership extended to supervising medical trainees and providing psychiatric consultation services across the hospital.
